Fake Tweet Generator: Make a Realistic X Post

Build a realistic X post with your own avatar, name, handle, text and image or video, then export it as PNG or video.

Compose a post that looks like it came straight from X: your own avatar, display name, handle and verification badge, the message text with hashtags and mentions tinted the right blue, an optional photo or video, the timestamp line and the engagement row. Then export it as a crisp PNG at two or three times resolution, or as a video when the attached media moves.

How to make a fake tweet

  1. Upload an avatar image, then type the display name and handle and choose no badge, blue, gold or grey.
  2. Write the post text and watch the counter underneath: 280 characters, or 25,000 with the Premium box ticked.
  3. Attach a photo or a video clip if the post should carry media.
  4. Edit the time, date and view count in the footer and the reply, repost, like and bookmark numbers, then pick the light or dark theme.
  5. Export PNG 2× or PNG 3×, or WebM or MP4 when the attached media is a video.

What the card reproduces

The card follows the current X web layout: a 48-pixel round avatar, a bold display name with an optional blue, gold or grey badge, a muted handle, 17-pixel body text with 20-pixel line height, media with 16-pixel corners and a hairline border, then the small footer with time, date and view count and the reply, repost, like, bookmark and share icons with editable numbers. Light and dark modes both match their respective palettes.

Text is counted by code points, the way X counts, with the standard 280-character limit or 25,000 when you switch on the Premium toggle. Links, @mentions and #hashtags are recognised and coloured automatically as you type.

Tips for a realistic tweet mockup

Editing the post

The form on the left mirrors the card on the right field by field: type a display name and handle, pick a badge, upload an avatar or let the initials fallback stand in, and write the text with the live counter underneath. Toggle the footer and engagement rows independently, and edit each count, so a quiet post shows nothing and a viral one shows millions of views. The theme switch flips the card between the light and dark palettes without changing anything else, which makes side-by-side comparisons easy.

Stills, and videos inside the card

PNG export rasterises the card's DOM at either 2x or 3x, so text stays sharp when the image is zoomed or displayed on a phone. When the attached media is a video, you can export a WebM or MP4 where the card stays static and the clip plays inside its rounded frame: the card is drawn once, the video frames are composited into the media area, and the original audio is carried across. MP4 relies on H.264 WebCodecs and is therefore available in Chrome and Edge; other browsers get WebM.

Working with drafts

There is no account and no list of posts to wade through first. The editor opens on an unsaved draft which is persisted locally as you type, and Save as gives it a name when you want to keep it. Avatars and media are stored in the browser's database next to the project; JSON export moves a project between browsers, minus the media, which you can re-attach.

Typography and fidelity notes

X uses its own Chirp typeface, which cannot be redistributed. The card asks for Chirp first and falls back through the system font stack the real site uses, so on most machines the rendering is within a pixel of the original. Icons are redrawn as vector paths matching the reference geometry rather than copied assets.

A note on honesty

Fabricated posts attributed to real people cause real harm and can be defamatory. This tool is for parody that is clearly parody, for design mock-ups and for teaching people how to spot fakes. Keep it that way.

Rendering a post image is free 30 times per day with no watermark ever; Pro has no daily figure.

Questions people ask about Fake X / Twitter Post Maker

Is this fake tweet generator free, and does it add a watermark?
It costs nothing, needs no sign-up and never marks the image. Free use covers 30 PNG or video exports a day, drawn from one allowance shared with the chat, meme and Snapchat caption makers on this site; a Pro license removes that ceiling.
Can I make a fake tweet from someone else?
You can type any name and handle, but you should not use a real person's identity to make them appear to have said something. Impersonation can break platform rules and, when it damages a reputation, defamation law. Use invented accounts, your own profile, or parody that is plainly labelled as parody.
Does it work on my phone?
The page runs in a mobile browser with nothing to install, and the PNG export only needs the browser to draw the card. Exporting a video inside the card needs WebM recording or, for MP4, an H.264 encoder through WebCodecs, and support for those varies between mobile browsers.
Can I make a fake reply or thread?
No. The tool draws one standalone post card, with no reply line, quoted post or thread connector. For a thread mock-up, save each post as its own PNG and stack the images in a design or slide tool.
Which resolution should I choose for the PNG?
Use 2x for feeds and documents, which gives roughly 1200 pixels of width for a full card, and 3x when the image will be shown on a high-density phone screen or zoomed in during a presentation.
Can I attach a video and export it as a video?
Yes. Attach any video the browser can play, then choose WebM or MP4 from the export menu. The card is rendered once and the clip is composited into the media area frame by frame, keeping the original soundtrack.
Why does the character counter differ from the number of letters I typed?
The counter counts Unicode code points, so an emoji or an accented character counts once even if it occupies two UTF-16 units internally. That matches how the real platform counts.
Is the badge colour meaningful?
Blue is the ordinary Premium badge, gold indicates a verified organisation and grey a government or multilateral account. The tool simply reproduces the three colours the platform uses so mock-ups look right.
Does anything leave my computer?
No. The avatar and media you attach are kept in the browser's local database, the card is rasterised in the tab, and exports are downloaded directly. There is no upload step and no account.
